Sandstrandpfandstand

Developed in collaboration with the Vorarlberg Municipal Association, this deposit bottle collector is designed to make the separate collection of refundable bottles in public areas easier and more effective. The aim is to reduce misplacement in residual waste and enhance bottle reuse. The fully functional prototype was manufactured and tested at Schlosserei Wolf in Hohenems. Durable materials and a practical design ensure long-lasting performance and user-friendliness. Its clear design language and intuitive usability help increase public acceptance – supporting sustainability and cleanliness in everyday life.

Requirements:

  • Visibility
    The shelf should catch attention and be easy to spot.

  • Use of existing infrastructure
    It should fit naturally into public places.

  • Simple to use
    Donating bottles should be intuitive and hassle-free.

  • Clear purpose
    Signage should explain that donations support a good cause.
